Work Description

For this Scan-Design home renovation, we focused on enhancing openness, functionality, and modern aesthetics. We removed the wall between the dining room and kitchen, creating a seamless flow for better interaction and natural light. To elevate the space, we modified the roofline, introducing a vaulted ceiling that adds both visual square footage and architectural interest. The primary suite was completely reimagined with a walkable closet leading to a spa-like ensuite, maximizing convenience and luxury. For the kids, we added lofts in their bedrooms, giving them personal retreats for play and relaxation while optimizing space. The result is a contemporary, airy home that balances practicality with sophisticated design.

About the Location - North Vancouver

Tucked away in a peaceful cul-de-sac in Roche Point, North Vancouver, this home offers the perfect balance of convenience and tranquility. Just minutes from top-rated schools, scenic parks, and essential amenities, the location made it an easy choice for our clients to stay and renovate rather than relocate. Surrounded by lush forests and the natural beauty of the North Shore, Roche Point is a sought-after neighborhood known for its outdoor lifestyle, with quick access to hiking trails, Deep Cove, and the waterfront. While expanding their home to accommodate their growing family was a necessity, the sleek, Scandinavian-inspired design was a personal preference, blending modern aesthetics with the surrounding natural landscape.

Challenges

Building a new roof over an existing one posed structural and logistical challenges, requiring careful load assessments, precision framing, and waterproofing to prevent leaks. The team reinforced critical areas, integrated modern ventilation systems, and ensured a seamless tie-in with the old structure. Safety and coordination were key, with strategic sequencing to minimize disruption. Through detailed planning and expert execution, the project resulted in a stronger, more efficient, and aesthetically improved roof.
